ST. PETERSBURG — Brandon Lowe was activated off the injured list and inserted in today’s lineup against the Orioles, hitting second and playing second base.
Also, Ryan Yarbrough was called up from the taxi squad and will start today’s game against the Orioles.
To make room on the 26-man roster, the Rays optioned infielder Jonathan Aranda and reliever Ralph Garza Jr. To make room on the 40-man roster to reinstate Lowe, Kevin Kiermaier was shifted to the 60-day injured list, pushing his potential return from a hip injury to mid-September.
